Lynn Randall
Vocalist

Lynn Randall began performing professionally as a child, appearing on the Tony Grant Show on Steel Pier at age 12. From 1973 until 1993 Lynn worked as a full-time vocalist with top-40 and show bands all over the eastern seaboard and the midwestern USA.

In the recording studios of Philadelphia and New York, Lynn did jingle and background singing work. Atlantic City casino hotels like Caesar’s, Resorts International, and the Trump Hotels became regular accounts, and in 1993 Lynn moved to St. Maarten, beautiful island in the eastern Caribbean, where she was the in-house act and the Entertainment Director at the Dawn Beach Hotel. She stayed for four wonderful years.

Lynn was featured on WPVI Channel 6’s “AM Philadelphia”, and appeared on the Jerry Lewis Telethon as well. She is a polished, natural performer, personable and witty.

A career shift came in 1997, when Lynn returned to the US from St. Maarten with her musician husband and manager, Don Moyer. The Moyers owned and ran a small music store on St Maarten, and upon their return opened PRO LINE MUSIC in Fairless Hills, PA. (Lower Bucks County), a full line retail music store and School Of Music in the year 2000. In 6 years they have doubled their retail space and have an enrollment of over 350 students each week. They also still have the PRO LINE MUSIC store in St. Maarten.

When Lynn Randall returned to what she knew best, singing and performing, she decided to devote her efforts to the music she has always had the closest connection to, standards, swing and jazz. In May 2005 Lynn began recording a CD, produced by Joe Donofrio, Grammy winning record producer and personal manager of legendary jazz guitarist Pat Martino.

After hearing a demo, Joe swung into the project with enthusiasm and great ideas, and the CD was released in November 2005. Called simply “songs I love”, it features world class guest stars, like pianist Dean Schneider, bassist Jennifer Leitham, vibraphonist Tony Miceli, trumpeter Al Harrison, guitarist Danny DeGennaro, and percussionist Marlon Simon.

A rich contralto with a soaring upper register, Ms. Randall uses her expressive 3 octaves to tell stories and explore material with intelligence and humor. Often compared to Judy Garland, Lynn’s voice does resemble a jazzy Judy. She loves the Swing Era, and the music of Gershwin, Porter, Ellington, Arlen, Kern, Berlin, Torme’, et al. She covers the rare contemporary song with a touch of Sondheim, Manilow, Wildhorn, Peter Allen, and Paul Williams.  Lynn celebrated her favorite lyricist, Johnny Mercer, with a “Lyrics by Mercer” show that she presented at ODETTE’S in New Hope.

Lynn Randall and her Trio also features Paul Pelusi, a brilliant pianist who hails from King Of Prussia, Don Moyer (her spouse) on upright bass, and Gary Wayne on drums. All are veterans of the Philly music scene, accomplished musicians, and have known Lynn for more than 25 years. Their ease in interaction shows that connection.
